Pet Microchipping

Each year, thousands of pets go missing, and many don’t make it back home. Many pets (especially indoor pets) don’t wear collars or tags. Even if your pet wears a collar and identification tag, collars can break off and tags can become damaged and unreadable, so these forms of identification may not be enough to ensure your pet’s safe return.

Pet Microchipping in Dallas, TX

A Large Fluffy Cat Getting Scanned for a Microchip
A microchip is a safe, simple form of identification that can significantly increase the chance that your pet will return safely. At Pavillion Animal Hospital, we utilize HomeAgain microchips (www.Homeagain.com) which can be universally read by all scanners, ensuring any facility can identify your pet and reunite them with you.

About the size and shape of a grain of rice, a microchip is placed under your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The process of microchip implantation takes only a few minutes and is entirely safe. Each microchip possesses a unique code and holds essential details about your pet, including your name, address, and contact information. Upon microchip insertion, pet owners receive a registration form for completion. By registering the microchip number, your pet becomes part of a national pet recovery database.
